What is Kinesiology?

Kinesiologists are human movement specialists who help improve their client’s health and fitness through individualized exercise programs, coaching and lifestyle advice. Kinesiologists use their understanding of functional anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, exercise prescription and more to provide an individualized plans to help promote overall physical health or achieve specific fitness goals. Kinesiologists work with a people of all ages to increase fitness after an injury, period of deconditioning, age-related decline in fitness or, for those battling with chronic diseases or disabilities.

Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation

Kinesiologists provide functional assessment and treatment services for those suffering from physical injuries sustained at work, an automotive accident, sports injury, or an injury due to age related decline. The functional assessment is followed by the creation of an individualized exercise program that will help regain functionality, fitness, and overall movement longevity.

Exercise Therapy

Kinesiologists are also able to provide exercise-based services for those diagnosed with chronic diseases or neurological injuries. Such conditions include diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, osteoporosis, autism and more. Physician approval may be required before exercise can be prescribed.
